About the house
The property we believe was built around 1850 and still retains much of its original features such as the beams, floors and staircase. There
are 2 bedrooms on the first floor (double& twin); the double to the rear
with glorious views over the River Gartempe.
Since purchasing the cottage in December 2010, we have totally renovated the property trying to retain all its charm but creating what is required to bring the house up to modern day standards.
There is a newly installed fully fitted kitchen, with gas hob and electric oven,
dishwasher, washing machine and fridge freezer and microwave.
On the first floor we have created a new bathroom, with shower, toilet and pedestal wash hand basin.
There is full gas central heating making the cottage suitable for rental throughout
River Cottage has stunning views of the River Gartempe, which can be enjoyed from the spacious and comfortably furnished lounge/dining room or from the raised terrace in the fully enclosed garden that backs directly onto the river and has steps leading down to the water’s edge (secured by two gates).
